Match Report

Sunday arrived with it a unseasonably warm morning, which made for great football conditions. The
grass was recently cut and was sprinkled with just enough dew to give the surface a bit of zip.

Unfortunately, the surface and conditions did not translate through to our quality of play.

For the 1 st 5 or 10 minutes,we moved the ball around quite well. Getting forward regularly with Carl
exploiting the space on the wings to get involved in at will. In typical Boston style,we were wasteful
early on,spawning a few good chances.

It was going to take a goal to settle us down and that’s just what we got, when after 15 mins, Jack
Slade picked up the ball in the midfield, dribbled past 5 of their players and rolled it past the keeper.
Pundits likened the goal to that of Messi vs Getafe. 1-0 Boston.

This is where things started to go downhill As the opposition manager began to take issue with every
decision from the ref. Twice he encroached onto the pitch to argue with the ref. The 2 nd time after
Ibo had burst down the left wing and put in an exceptional cross to find Paul in the middle who is
still on his way down for his diving header (yes it happened that slowly) 2-0

The opposition were threatening to walk off and have the game abandoned but somehow, we
managed to keep the game going to hear the half time whistle.

The 2 nd half started the way the 1 st ended. Really stop start and contentious. The opposition doing
their best to disrupt our flow and it was working. We stopped playing football and got into
arguments, losing discipline as a result.

The 3 rd goal came as a result of some good play from Jack again who capitalised on some poor
control from.their midfielder by intercepting and running through on goal, rounding the keeper and
slotting into an empty net from a tight angle. What made the goal more impressive, was that Jack
strained his groin in the build up.

The injury forces us into a change and Jack was replaced with the returning Jason while Paul was
saved from hitting the floor in his diving header by being replaced by who the fans are now calling
Bobby Martial.

It was Berat who got the next goal however. In typical Berat fashion, he dribbled past as many
players as could in the 18 yard box, before stopping to admire himself, take on a couple more
players and finally Knock the ball past the keeper.

More chances came and went as did more animosity between the two teams and the ref and our
opposition. The game was ended by a long ball over the top to Bobby, who looked suspiciously
offside, to run through unchallenged and give himself and the keeper the eyes as he scuffed his shot
into the bottom corner.

Wasn’t our best performance by any stretch but it’s 3 more points and a clean sheet.
